The Otintaai is the main hotel in Kiribati. The hotel is fully government owned and situated on South Tarawa with a good view of the peaceful lagoon and part of North Tarawa. From the hotel to the airport is about 10 minutes drive. It is ideal for travelers who want to stay close to the airport.

Facilities

It has 40 air-conditioning rooms, each equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, telephone, Internet LAN wireless connection, sky TV, toilet, hot and cold shower, small refrigerator, and a ceiling fan. Other facilities include a conference hall located upstairs that can accommodate up to 200 people, a traditional meeting house known as “Te Mwaneaba”  made of local materials that can also be used for meetings and entertainment. There is a dining hall with its mini-bar, beach bar and an air-conditioned lounge bar with a pool table plus another mini-meeting room that can take up to 30 people. And an additional large sunrise hall for entertainment is normally hired for dancing/and twisting at the weekend especially, Fridays and Saturdays. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served and room service is also available on request. Master Card and Visa Card are accepted.

Services

Regular trip to Biketawa islet in North Tarawa is organized by the Otintaai Hotel every Saturdays of the pay week. The Hotel has a speed boat that can take up to 15 people to this islet. Day trip other than as mentioned to Biketawa can be arranged with reception. Car rentals, hire of traditional dancing show for special functions, and other local tours can also be arranged by the hotel, however, staff at reception need to be informed well in advance.
