Tabon te Keekee is a family run property offering guests the opportunity to relax in the tranquillity of undisturbed Abatao,

in the island nation of Kiribati.

Facilities

Abatao is located in undeveloped North Tarawa and offers few western luxuries. It is therefore an ideal location to rediscover the simple things in life.
Guests stay in a traditional style buia - a pandanus wood structure with thatched roof and raised floor. The simple style is basic but comfortable and is ideally suited to the island climate, providing shade and a cooling breeze.

There are 3 land based lagoon view buias in addition to two overwater buias.

A separate eating house and new coffee corner have views across the turquoise lagoon to South Tarawa.

Activities

The lagoon offers idyllic swimming, being warm and calm. Tabon Te Keekee is ideally located for you to have a leisurely stroll and discover North Tarawa.

For the more active guests we have bicycles to hire so that you can explore further up the islets and Tabon Te Keekee is also the starting point for some tours.

But if all that is too much effort - lie back in one of our hammocks and relax, island style.
