Kiribati has 3 International gateways. These are located on Tarawa, Kiritimati and Kanton Islands. Kiritimati (Christmas) IslandAir Pacific flies to Kiritimati (Christmas) Island from both Honolulu and Fiji. Flights will commence on 25th May with booking available through your travel agent or Air Pacific.

Please be mindful of crossing the international datelines on all flights that depart from Honolulu and the impact this will have on your connections. Before the 25th of May Kiritimati (Christmas) Island has an ‘interim’ weekly charter service departing from Honolulu on Tuesdays and arriving at Kiritimati on Wednesday (note the plane crosses the international dateline). The service departs from Honolulu on 9:00 am at Honolulu General Aviation Section. Bookings can be made through: Tel (work): (+1) 808 853 8764 NOTE: Non US Citizens wanting to travel to Kiritimati Island may require a valid USA Visa when transitting through Honolulu, Hawaii. You will need to contact your USA Embassy to determine your specific visa requirements. Please also be aware there is luggage restrictions on this flight and you should confirm at the time of booking. The Kiribati government is in the process of reviewing flight services to Kiritimati Island and would expect a new service to be on route by late 2009. TarawaAir Pacific Tarawa is serviced twice out of Fiji by Air Pacific. Flights depart from Nadi on Tuesdays and Thursdays and take 3 hours. Air Pacific codes shares with Qantas and Cathay Pacific with connection availabe from Australia, New Zealand, United States and now from Europe through Hong Kong. Air Kiribati Air Kiribati operates a return 737 flight service between Tarawa and Nadi. Flights leave Tarawa on Saturday mornings and return on Monday mornings.
